Some more information about Wes
People all over the world knew who Wes was after all of this had happened, news had broke everywhere and people had said things about Wes wishing his family the very best. Not even knowing who he was but people had felt so strongly about what had happened and had known that he was a true athletic star. There are just so many different things that students from Fennville schools and places all around the Fennville district who could say things about Wes. Wes had left behind a Father, Mother and a younger brother. But also a basketball and football family with Fennville Public School, he also was on a travel team for basketball that was close to home called “West Michigan Lakers” Coach by: Kevin Trinagli who is the head coach for the 17 year olds. Knowing Wes wasn’t a bad thing it was the best thing that could have ever happened to people. If Wes didn’t even know you he would be nice to you.
A little bit about Wes!
Wesley James Leonard also know as a small town hero who died on 3/3/11 after winning the game point for his Varsity basketball team. Wes hit the floor seconds after scoring the winning shot and celebrating that he had helped make his basketball team 20-0. When Fennville and Bridgeman had been tied 55-55 just seconds before, after getting the chance Wes drive in the winning layup Wes had gotten for his team making the game a 57-55 game. Hours after Wes had hit the floor he had passed away from cardiac arrest which was caused by an enlarged heart. The town of Fennville, Michigan was mortified by the loss of the player who helped lead his team to an undefeated season. He was also the star on the the football team he was the quarterback. But Wes was not only the sports man but also a person who never found interest in drug, never drank energy drinks, or Alcohol he never cared for any of that.

Never Forgotten
Wes was a great team player who loved doing what he did. Wes loved spending time with his family. When he collapsed everyone was in shock. He just shot the winning basket. He has gotten a lot of attention because everyone knows that he was a great kid. We want his name to be known that he was a great basketball player. His kindness and gift will live through his friends, teammates, family, and coaches. Wes will never be forgotten.
